LIST: Our E3 2018 Magic 8-Ball Predictions!
E3 shenanigans kick off this weekend (I don’t know this happened) and ‘TIS THE SEASON FOR EXCITEMENT (not to be confused with excrement) AND HYPE. And as you may or may not know, we enlisted the trustworthy assistance of a Magic 8 Ball for our E3 2018 predictions. We didn’t have those predictions in one convenient place, so I thought I’d take a few minutes and smack ’em all on this blog post. Also, uh, the notes I took during this show are slightly…illegible…but I don’t have time to listen to the entire show so I’m going to do my best to interpret my awful chicken scratch.
As E3 rolls on feel free to keep score and let us know how we did. Remember, anything that we got wrong is purely because of the Magic 8 Ball. (Also this episode was recorded on 5/18, so some things may have been confirmed/debunked since then!)
EA:
- Will we see a Dragon Age 4 teaser? Can’t predict now
- Will Battlefield V announce a Battle Royale mode? As I see it, yes
- Will we see Respawn’s Star Wars? As I see it, yes
- Will Unravel 2 make an appearance? It is certain
Microsoft
- Will Halo 6 release this fall? Ask again later
- Will we get a Gears of War 5 teaser? As I see it, yes
- Will Borderlands 3 be on the Xbox stage? Ask again later
- Will we see Fable 4? You may rely on it
- Is Forza Horizon 4 coming this fall? You may rely on it
- Will Xbox have an exclusive platform partnership for a JRPG? It is decidedly so
- Will we get 5+ minutes of Metro: Exodus gameplay? It is certain
- Will we see something related to Ori and the Blind Forest? Yes, definitely
- Will Life is Strange be debuted on the Xbox stage? Outlook good
- Will Crackdown 3 release in August 2018? Don’t count on it
- Will Microsoft unveil 4 new IPs on stage? Cannot predict now
- Will we see a Halo Xbox One X console? Cannot predict now
Bethesda
- Will Starfield be revealed? My sources say no
Square Enix
- Will we see a cinematic trailer for Avenger’s? Yes
- Will Kingdom Hearts 3 be delayed? My reply is no
- Will Just Cause 4 be teased? You may rely on it
- Will we see a Square Enix Collection for Switch? Yes
- Will we see Lara Croft Go? Without a doubt
Ubisoft
- Will we see a Beyond Good & Evil cinematic trailer? It is certain
- Will Skull and Bones have a release date and a gameplay demo? As I see it, yes
- Will we see 7 minutes and 22 seconds (or 10 minutes? I can’t read my notes) of The Division 2? Don’t count on it
- Will Assassin’s Creed be at E3? As I see it, yes
- Will Splinter Cell be stealth dropped? Cannot answer no? (That’s literally what my notes say but I don’t think that’s even a possible answer LOL)
- Will Watch Dogs 3 be at E3? As I see it, yes
- Will there be two indie titles that capture Steimer’s heart: Very doubtful (lololol)
- Will Just Dance 2019 be on stage? Ask again later
- Will Camila be at Ubisoft? My sources say no
Sony:
- Will we get a Days Gone release date? Yes definitely
- Will we see the Resident Evil 2 remake? Outlook good
- Will BLOPS 4 zombies be on stage? Better not tell you now
- Will we see PSVR 2.0? My reply is no
- Will we see Ghosts of Tsushima gameplay? Most likely
- Will we see Death Stranding gameplay? No
- Will we see Last of Us 2 gameplay? (I don’t have an answer for this written down!)
- Will we see Destiny 2’s fall expansion on stage? Yes
- Will we see what FromSoftware is working on? Concentrate and ask again later
- Will we see Shenmue 3? Cannot predict now
- Will we see Devil May Cry on the PlayStation stage? You may rely on it
Nintendo:
- Will we have a roster reveal for Smash Brothers? Cannot predict now
- Will Chissy Teigen make an appearance and announce Animal Crossing for Switch? As I see it, yes
- Will we see new Joy Con colors? (NO ANSWER WRITTEN DOWN WAAAH)
- Will we see footage of Mario Kart Tour? Cannot predict now
- Will we see Professor Layton on Nintendo Switch? My reply is no
- Will we see a new multiplayer Mario platformer? You may rely on it
- Will we see a gameplay demo of Bayonetta 3? Ask again later
- Will we see something new from Star Fox? Ask again later
